The Perse Coding Team Challenge will test your programming prowess as you battle it out against teams from across the UK for the Braben Cup.
The competition is open to UK pupils in Years 7-11 (P7-S4 in Scotland) and is free to enter. International schools may enter the competition for the purpose of certificate awards, but only schools in the UK will be eligible for the cup/prize money award.
To take part you’ll need to complete the coding challenges at school, using the PCTC competition website, during the times shown below.
September: PCTC R0 Practice Challenge released (optional)
Round 1 competition window:
Monday 22 January – Friday 2 February 2024
Round 2 competition window:
Monday 11 March – Friday 22 March 2024
Please note: Round 2 is open to the highest scoring entries in Round 1 only. Registrations should ideally be made at least one week before these windows to ensure sufficient time for the material to be sent to the invigilating teachers.

Our goal at this course is to enhance our students’ mathematical intuition by focusing on a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and to enable them to link different concepts and apply their knowledge to solve mathematical problems to help them to improve their performance at Maths exams.
This course guides you through the fundamentals of Python programming using an interactive Python library known as Turtle.
This course encompasses a range of Geometry topics such as coordinate and spatial geometry, introductory trigonometry, angles, parallel lines, congruent and similar triangles, polygons, circles, the Pythagorean Theorem, and more. Emphasis will be placed on reinforcing Algebra skills and enhancing critical thinking through problem-solving in both mathematical and real-world contexts.
