It is convenient to solve these problems through an equation.

The main thing to remember is that the age difference always remains the same.

Problems

  1. James is 11 years old, Steven is 1 year old. How old will James be when he becomes three times older than Steven?
  2. If you add 7 to half my years, you will get my age 13 years ago. How old am I?
  3. When the father was 27 years old, the son was 3 years old. Now the son is three times younger than his father. How old are each of them?
  4. Abdullah is four times older than Mahmud. The sum of their ages is 50 years. In how many years will Abdullah be three times older than Mahmud?
  5. The father is 4 times older than the son. In 20 years he will be twice as old as his son. How old is his father now?
  6. The father is 32 years old, the son is 5 years old. In how many years will the father be 10 times older than his son?
  7. The father is as old as the son and daughter together; the son is twice as old as his sister and 20 years younger than his father. How old is his daughter?
  8. Eldar in 2 years will be twice as old as he was 2 years ago, and Elina in 3 years will be three times older than she was 3 years ago. Which one is older?
  9. Alfira is three times as old as Eldar was when she was his current age. When he is at her current age, they will be 28 years old together. How old is Alfira now and how old is Eldar?
  10. Ignat is now four times as old as his sister was when she was half his age. How old is Ignat now, if in 15 years he and his sister together will be 100 years old?
  11. Yura and Yulia are now 26 years old together, and Yulia is three times younger than Yura will be when they together are five times as old as Yura is now. How old is Yura?

Where do you hold your classes?
We hold our classes online or on-site on Saturdays at our branch in Pimlico Academy, London.
You can find our timetable here.
What do you need to start learning online?
For lessons you only need a computer or phone with a microphone, camera and Internet access. Wherever you are - in London, Nottingham, New York or Bali - online lessons will be at hand.
When can I take the introductory lesson?
You can get acquainted with the school at any time convenient for you. To do this, just leave a request and sign up for a lesson.
I can't attend class, what should I do?
It is OK, it happens! Students have the opportunity to cancel a lesson up to 8 hours before the scheduled time without loss of payment. So you can reschedule it for a convenient time, and the teacher will have the opportunity to
I don't have much free time, will I have time to study?
Learning can take place at your own pace. We will select a convenient schedule and at any time we will help you change the schedule, take a break or adjust the program.
How long is one lesson?
All classes last 1 hour.
